This desire for public approval often stifles creativity, especially when society still enforces rigid gender-specific clothing and engages in rainbow-washing, which can feel superficial and tokenizing.

While staying true to ourselves in a world of ever-changing trends can be difficult, practicing conscious decision-making is key. Fashion is often influenced by capitalism, with trends driven by profit rather than genuine satisfaction. On social media, sponsored posts and brand deals promote products that sometimes exploit people's desire for validation and originality.

To avoid losing your authenticity, it’s important to be discerning. Approach trends and advertisements with a critical eye, focusing on what truly resonates with your sense of self, rather than following the latest fad.
